LEARN, PLAY, DEVELOP

SPORTING CHANCE

SESSIONS

EARLY YEARS/FOUNDATION SKILLS

0915 - 1000 AM

Age Range: 5 - 9 Years

Our Early Learners are often our youngest and newest participants, many of whom are non-verbal and benefit from dedicated 1:1 support. This session focuses on building the essential foundation skills for future success.

Focus Areas: 

  • Developing hand-eye coordination and balance.

  • Learning basic ball-handling techniques.

  • Introducing hitting tennis balls over the net.

INTERMEDIATE GROUP/SKILL DEVELOPMENT

1000 - 1100 AM 

Age Range: 10 - 16 Years 

Our largest and most dynamic group, the Intermediate session welcomes clients with a wide range of movement, mobility, and sensory needs. Support is flexible - some receive full 1:1 assistance, while others receive targeted guidance for specific activities.

Focus Areas:

  • Developing the ability to play structured matches across multiple sports.

  • ​Supporting behaviour management and sensory regulation.

  • Encouraging teamwork, communication and growing independence.

ADVANCED GROUP/EXPERIENCED

1100 - 1200 AM

Age Range: Primarily 16+, with other selected 

Our Advanced Group includes some of our longest-standing participants, many of whom are capable of playing full tennis matches at a Red level. Support focuses on maintaining safety, managing any medical needs, and providing ongoing sensory support as required.

Focus Areas:

  • Match play and higher-level skill application.

  • Promoting independence and self-management.

  • Sustaining engagement while supporting individual medical and sensory needs.
